Its front central roundel depicts a bird perched on a rock beneath flowering branches and a butterfly in flight, which is enclosed within an eight-lobed shaped panel. The cavetto is decorated with alternating panels of auspicious floral sprays and precious objects, all rendered in rich cobalt blue and framed by stylized diaper and brocade patterns. The reverse is painted with loosely drawn circular and dash motifs, typical of Kraak porcelain. One hairline extends from the rim half way towards the footring. A clean break along the rim has been neatly reattached, with the fracture line still visible on both sides. With minor rim fritting, kiln grit adhesion and surface imperfections, overall good condition consistent with age. Please contact us for more information.
