ANTIQUE LARGE RARE JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD KUTANI CHARGER BY SEIZAN

This exceptional and impressively large Japanese Kutani charger features a finely painted scene of chrysanthemums and blossoming trees emerging from stylized black and gold clouds, executed with superb detail and precision. The rim is adorned with a complex geometric border in gilt, enhancing the refined composition and emphasizing its Meiji-period artistry. The reverse side displays elegant hand-painted bamboo sprays in iron red enamel and is fitted with a foot rim typical of Kutani ware. The charger bears a gold-on-brown Kutani mark in kanji, along with the artist’s name, Seizan. Its bold size and elaborate decoration make it a strong visual centerpiece.
